California Spotlight: The Coronation of the Hotel del Coronado

We are excited about what’s to come this fall, as the queen of Coronado and possibly San Diego, the Hotel del Coronado, in Coronado, California, reveals the results of its massive $400 million dollar renovation. The comprehensive refresh begins with the lobby and continues throughout the property. Guests will appreciate the hand-painted silk wallcoverings by the world-renowned de Gournay, along with new handblown chandeliers inspired by the 1888 originals.  

The Shore House has been designed to mimic a “stylish beach house setting”, where guests can relax with views of the Coronado beach. The overarching goal of the Shore House is to provide a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Each of the guest rooms is designed to incorporate a gorgeous view of the ocean. The stunning pool is seen as an “extension of the ocean” that leads into a lawn and sundeck perfect for group gatherings. 

The renovation wouldn’t be complete without an overhaul of the Southpointe Event Center. The event center features an impressive 15,130 sq ft space with approximately 10,000 sq ft of pre-function and breakout meeting space for up to 1,600 people. The Southpointe opens up to the expansive lawn set against the beautiful historic hotel.
