Let’s wish Lindsay Welch, one of our Account Executive’s in our Boston office, a cheerful good morning! Explore below and learn more about Lindsay’s past and present endeavors.

What attracted you to the event management world?

The people. My first “real” job out of college was at Marriott supporting the Sales and Catering Team. I’ve never seen a harder working group of professionals that also know how to have a ton of fun. This industry is one in a million and I continue to make lifelong friendships as my career evolves.

How did you first become interested in this industry?

I was a class officer in high school and really enjoyed planning and executing all of the fundraising and social events for my class. After high school I went to college at UMass Amherst (Go Minutemen!) and discovered their Hospitality and Tourism Management Program – my interest took off from there!

What is your favorite part about your job?

The creative aspect for sure. I love that CSI encourages me to use my imagination in proposal writing. It’s so cool to see those ideas come to life on the floor!

What is the best part about the destination you work in?

It’s pretty unique that Boston is both the history and the future of America. As one of the country’s oldest cities, there is rich history, charm and quaint aesthetic all over downtown Boston, (my favorite being the Waterfront!). The future is just down the street in the ever-growing Seaport “Innovation District”, and we’re lucky enough to consider ourselves the heart of America’s education system. Boston is such a well-rounded city and I’m proud to call it home! I mean, we’re also annoyingly good at sports…. 🙂

What is one of your most proud accomplishments at CSI (or other company) so far?

Since joining CSI 8 months ago, I have booked lots of repeat business and I am proud of the client relationships that I have developed in a short time. The relationship with the Encore Boston Harbor (Wynn Hotel), slated to open in June, stands out. CSI is gearing up for round three of their recruitment events, which have already resulted in thousands of new hires for the Encore team!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I dream of being a mom while also kicking butt in a killer job in the Events Industry…#girlboss

Where are you from?

20 minutes south of Boston in Abington, Massachusetts. My family has deep roots in Massachusetts – fun fact, I am actually a descendant of the Mayflower Pilgrim, Richard Warren!

How do you like to spend your weekends?

I love to spend time exploring New England and being outside as much as I can. To name a few – riding my bike, hiking nearby trails, trying out local breweries, walking the jetty down on Plymouth Waterfront (Ziggy’s ice cream in-hand), and spend lots of time with family and friends.

Are there any causes you are passionate about?

I support Autism Speaks, The Brittany Fund for Trauma and Recovery (founded in 2013 after the Boston Marathon bombings) and have also been lucky enough to help build a home for a family in need with Habitat for Humanity.

Did you guess Ashley’s favorite sweet snack to nibble on? It’s…peanut butter M&Ms. You can never go wrong with these!

Can you guess Lindsay’s favorite animal? We will give you a hint…it has four legs! Leave a comment on our Instagram @csidmc with which animal you think it is. Be sure to tune in to the next CSI Insider to find Lindsay’s answer!
